Have Your Say: KartSport New Zealand's New Strategic Direction

Strategic Plan Review: Stage Two - Members Survey To Follow

Kartsport: Like so many of New Zealand's sports communities is at a crossroads.

Just about every code in New Zealand is struggling to stem dropping participation as sporting bodies face increasing competition from the abundance
of choices Kiwi's have, an ever increasingly tough economic environment and a
diminishing pool of volunteers.

There is no doubt we have one of the most Team (Family) centric sports but at the same time we are encumbered with significant bureaucracy, complex rules and massive technical compliance issues. Add to this an increasingly disparate membership where we must seek to satisfy everyone from
clubby to semi-professional.

Many Clubs are also seeing reduced numbers at both membership and committee level and while we have a massively loyal band of officials they too would be the first to admit the need for fresh new blood and skills to share an ever increasing load as more and more meetings are scheduled with their inevitable date clashes impacting on numbers both inside and on the track.

Now is the time for us all to share our ideas and input as to how we can refocus and restructure to ensure we give our members the maximum excitement and fun in a safe secure environment.

Stage One Working Group Recommendations:

To date we have enjoyed a very fruitful day with a broad spectrum of our karting community where we chose to take a clean sheet and come up with a set of recommendations. This Working Group was carefully selected to represent a broad range of our community and we purposely kept it at arms length from the Administration to allow free and open input.

It is important you review their top priorities and review the detail on the groups findings thorough the SWOT process (Strengths, Weakness's, Opportunities and Threats). To See the Working Groups Recommendations CLICK HERE or Have Your Say.pdf (Hard copy sent to all Clubs)

The Next Step

1. Seek Input from ALL Clubs, Members and Industry:
A comprehensive Independent Survey will be undertaken in late July early August encompassing
all Kartsport members and associated parties. This data will be complied and
presented prior to conference for review

Results will be shared with everyone including regional sub reports

2. KSNZ Conference Session

A detailed session will be held at Conference this August 21 where we will review, debate and agree on and an overlying strategy

Stage Three: A Detailed Strategic Plan for KartSport’s Next Five Years.
