why do we need so many stewards on a club day. to many rules, we are a stater for motor sport, but seem to make it to hard and the costs are way to much,
what do you think

how ever we are a starter for motor sport. and its great that so many people start in karts ,and head to v8s and F1,and other forms of great motor sport. there are some great points that we all bring up ,and as you have said costs .
when we go away we stay with others, we get a few people and stay in a motel, split costs and that helps heaps.
what are your thoughts on cost savings . is there anything that can be done.
cheers Jason
Permalink Reply by jason wills on April 16, 2011 at 20:00 stewards are a big cost also. at the roads at manfield in january we had 13 of them. that costs us with our entry fees .it worked out to be 1 steward for 3 racers.
cheers everyone
Jason
Compared to the cost of your race gear the $30 - $40 entry you pay at a club day is a very small price to pay. I know very little about Road but surely the costs in your entry fees there are actually in leasing a track for the day.
Permalink Reply by Steven Gaskell on April 20, 2011 at 11:56 The price of racing in NZ, in terms of entry is indeed a very small price to pay. A practice session alone in the UK can cost $100, and this just for 6 15 minute sessions. 12 years ago the price was more than double what it is in NZ now.
I don't think the stewards are excessive to be honest either, it's much fairer having three than one.
